This is the shrine of Mian Sher Muhammad Sharaqpuri (1865 to 1928), a Sufi of the Naqshbandi order known as Sher-e-Rabbani. He spent his life in Sharaqpur teaching the Qur'an, building mosques and caring for the poor, and the town has been called Sharaqpur Sharif after him. His grave lies in a shrine beside a domed mosque on Jaranwala Road, and his annual urs draws many visitors. Sharaqpur is about 30 kilometres west of Lahore.
