This mosque was built around 1465 for the Sufi shaykh Madyan al-Ashmuni, who taught his followers here and is buried in it. It was commissioned by Khawand Mughul, daughter of Qadi Nasir al-Din al-Barizi, through the shaykh's nephew, the Maliki scholar Muhammad ibn Abd al-Da'im. The mosque has four iwans around a courtyard and a burial room for Shaykh Madyan beside a second room, all in the style of the late Mamluk period. It stands in Harat Madyan in Bab al-Sha'riyya and has been under restoration in recent years.
