Hasan al-Tusturi came to Egypt before Yusuf al-Ajami and was his equal on the path, yet when al-Ajami told him that only one of them could lead, he chose to serve. He led the path of al-Junayd in Egypt after al-Ajami's passing, and people came to him from every region. He passed away in 797 AH. He is buried in his mosque at the junction of al-Azhar Street and Port Said Street.
