Sulayman al-Khudayri, of the line of al-Zubayr ibn al-Awwam, learned the Qur'an and the sciences from Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti and took the spiritual path from al-Marhumi. He never spoke of anyone's faults and would not listen when others did, and he was respected by ordinary people and the elite alike. Abu al-Su'ud al-Jarhi was among his companions. His zawiya on al-Marasina Street, opposite the Ibn Tulun Mosque, became the mosque that holds his tomb.
