Shaykh Ahmad ibn Muhammad Radwan was born in 1315 AH to a family descended from Sayyiduna al-Hasan. He loved solitude in the desert and became one of the best-known shaykhs of Upper Egypt in the twentieth century. His saha and mosque are at al-Baghdadi, on the east bank south of Luxor, and they remain a place of hospitality and remembrance.
