Blidinje Nature Park covers a high karst plateau between the mountains of Čvrsnica and Vran, at around 1,200 metres. At its centre lies Blidinje Lake, a shallow lake in a glacial valley that often freezes over in winter. The park is known for its wide pastures, wildflowers, wild horses and forests of rare Bosnian pine, and for the medieval stećak tombstones of Dugo Polje, one of the stećci sites on UNESCO's World Heritage List. It offers hiking, mountain biking and skiing, with mountain huts and guesthouses for overnight stays. The road from Jablanica is narrow but manageable.
