Hatim ibn Ibrahim al-Hamidi (d. 596 AH) was the third Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Tayyibi Isma'ili tradition, which led the community in Yemen after the time of Queen Arwa. He lived and taught at al-Hutaib in the Haraz mountains, which became a centre of learning for his community. His grave lies under a white marble dome at al-Hutaib, set in gardens below the rock on which the village stands. It is the main place of pilgrimage in Yemen for the Dawoodi Bohra community, who come from India, Pakistan and elsewhere, and the surrounding village has been restored and kept immaculately clean.
