Wasit Castle is an Ottoman fort on a hilltop above the village of Wasit in the Badr governorate, on the old Egyptian Hajj road between Badr and Yanbu al-Nakhl. It was built to watch over the road and protect the pilgrim caravans travelling through the valley. Its rough stone walls still stand on the hill and can be seen from the village below, though the fort is not open inside. At the foot of the hill is Bi'r al-Sultani, counted among the best known wells of the valley.
