Masjid al-Ghazalah stands at al-Munsaraf, on the old road between Madinah and Makkah, at one of the places where Nabi Muhammad ﷺ prayed on his journeys. Abdullah ibn Umar recorded these prayer places on the road and used to pray at them himself. The mosque lies near al-Musayjid in Wadi al-Safra, on the road south-west of Madinah towards Badr.
