Al-Harrawi House was built in 1731 by Ahmad ibn Yusuf al-Sayrafi and takes its name from the physician Abd al-Rahman Pasha al-Harrawi, its last owner in the late nineteenth century. The restored house has a courtyard, a summer loggia and a grand hall, and it is used for music evenings and cultural events. Since 1998 it has housed the Arab Oud House founded by the Iraqi musician Naseer Shamma. It stands on Muhammad Abduh Street behind al-Azhar, next to Sitt Wasila House and facing the house of Zaynab Khatun.
