Shaykh Muhammad Bakhit al-Muti'i was a Hanafi jurist and judge who served as Grand Mufti of Egypt from 1914 to 1920 and wrote widely on law and theology. He passed away in 1935. His grave is in the north-east of the city, in the Matariyya and Ain Shams area.
