Azam Cloth Market is the great wholesale cloth market of the Walled City, with many thousands of shops selling everything from khaddar and silk to ready-made and bridal wear. It began in 1953 as a small market near the Wazir Khan Mosque and was moved to its present site when the road there was widened. The market lies inside Delhi Gate near Chowk Kotwali and supplies traders across Pakistan and beyond. Wazir Khan Mosque and the Shahi Hammam are a few minutes' walk away.
