Shaykh Abd al-Maqsud Muhammad Salim is a Sufi shaykh honoured in a small shrine in the Qarafa, the great cemetery of Cairo, and it is visited by those who follow his path. His shrine lies in the cemetery west of the mausoleum of Imam al-Shafi'i, close to Hosh al-Basha, the walled burial ground of Muhammad Ali's family. This part of the Qarafa holds the tombs of many scholars and saints within a short walk of one another, and visitors usually combine it with the dome of Imam al-Shafi'i.
