Vrelo Bosne is the spring of the river Bosna, at the foot of Mount Igman on the edge of Ilidža near Sarajevo. Many springs rise from the ground here and gather into pools and streams crossed by small wooden bridges, in a park that is protected as a natural monument. The park is reached along the Velika Aleja, a tree-lined avenue about three and a half kilometres long laid out in the Austro-Hungarian period, where horse-drawn carriages still take visitors to the springs. It is a favourite place for families from Sarajevo to walk, rest and feed the swans and ducks.
