Bab Bazan was a gate on the south-eastern side of Masjid al-Haram, named after the spring known as Bazan close to it. Al-Azraqi called it the gate of Banu A'idh, and in the Ottoman period it was also known as the police gate because a police post stood in front of it. It had two doors and thirteen steps, and its inscription, dated 984 AH, was placed by Sultan Murad III. The gate was removed when Masjid al-Haram was enlarged in the twentieth century. Its site lies inside the present mosque, about 65 metres south-east of the Ka'bah.
