The complex of Khayrbak was built between 1502 and 1521 by the Mamluk amir who became the first Ottoman governor of Egypt. It brings together his tomb, a mosque, a sabil and a kuttab. The building follows the bend of the street, with a domed tomb carved in stone, and it has been restored in recent years. It stands on Bab al-Wazir Street next to the Alin Aq palace, near the Blue Mosque.
