Sayyid Yahya, son of al-Qasim al-Tayyib and a descendant of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq, was called al-Shabih, 'the one who resembles', because he took after the Prophet ﷺ in looks and character. Mazarat Misr tells that Ahmad ibn Tulun invited him to Egypt, and that the day he arrived with other sharifs was kept like a feast day. His sister Fatima al-Ayna is also honoured in Cairo. His shrine stands south of Imam al-Shafi'i in the Qarafa and dates from the twelfth century, late in the Fatimid period. Several members of the Ahl al-Bayt lie in it, among them Yahya ibn al-Hasan al-Anwar, the brother of Sayyida Nafisa.
