This Fatimid shrine on al-Khalifa Street, built in 1133, is honoured as the resting place of Sayyida Ruqayya bint Ali. Many in Cairo know her as the daughter of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, and the Mazarat Misr guide identifies her as the daughter of Imam Ali al-Rida. The shrine is admired for its carved stucco mihrabs, among the finest left from Fatimid Cairo, and Mazarat Misr calls the graves around it 'the Baqi' of Egypt' for the many pious people buried nearby. It stands beside the domed shrine of Atika and close to Sayyida Sakina and Sayyida Nafisa, and it has been under restoration in recent years.
