Qadi Abd al-Wahhab ibn Ali al-Baghdadi was the leading Maliki jurist of Baghdad in his age and the author of al-Talqin, a concise handbook of Maliki law still studied today. Late in life he moved to Egypt, where he was received with honour, and he passed away there in 422 AH. His small shrine is in the Qarafa south of the Citadel, a short walk from the mausoleum of Abu Ja'far al-Tahawi.
