About Tankiz Mosque

Tankiz Mosque was built by Sayf al-Din Tankiz al-Nasiri, the Mamluk deputy in Damascus. Ibrahim Pasha converted it into military barracks during his campaign in Syria. The mosque was later bombed and destroyed by French forces during their attack on Damascus.
