Ja'far ibn Muhammad ibn Qulawayh was a hadith scholar from Qum who taught in Baghdad and passed away in 368 AH. He is best known for Kamil al-Ziyarat, a collection of reports on visiting the graves of the Prophet ﷺ and the Imams, and he was among the teachers of al-Shaykh al-Mufid. He is buried inside the Kadhimiya shrine beside his student al-Mufid, near the graves of Imam Musa al-Kazim and Imam Muhammad al-Jawad.
